The materials chosen and used by Renner are specifically engineered not to bend or break on impact or in a slide They will resist causing damage to existing threads and will resist potential damage to frame and to engine mountings

This is in contrast with some manufacturers whose choice of material and lack of manufacturing expertise can actually increase damage caused in a slide or fall Those sliders may briefly protect the outer edge of the motorcycle, but can cause major damage to the engine mountings or frame should they make contact with a kerb or similar
